Top 10 Tech Web Tips

I am still a little uncomfortable sending out a message to everyone that is following me in my contacts.

Looking at the user above, I came across an interesting topic, but before I follow her, I’d like to know what she normally writes about.  Does she jump from SoCal Bar hopping to politics and then hit everyone with articles about giving life insurance quotes at work.  Maybe I want to hear about some of the things she talks about but not all of the things she talks about! Can I get one of these filters for my wife??!??

I do not know if everyone that follows me wants to hear me post updates about why President Bush should be impeached. Maybe some of my followers love George W Bush and only follow me to hear a contrarian opinion or maybe they follow me for some other reason and see my George W Bush rants as a waste of time.

I think it would be sooooo cool if people could follow me, and then opt in for some of the categories I might write about.

They could for example opt to (or opt not to)

• follow everything
• or in ala carte fashion pick from the following
• follow music stuff
• follow political stuff
• follow attempts at humor
• follow dock videos
• follow family related stuff (and maybe I could approve who can follow this in return a 2 way option example here)
• follow my tech stuff
• follow my pet stuff
• follow my journey to train prairie dogs how to take over the planet and increase their mental capacity by eating fish
• or what ever I might set up

We could still maybe leave the notification thing as is, but just expand its capability so that I could send things to focused groups, and maybe add individuals from time to time or something.

(half baked idea here but I think I might be on to something useful)
