Validate Your Blog Every Week

Here is a tip that will help your blog continue to perform well.

Validate your blog at least once per Week!

Now this is something that I do better some weeks rather than others.  I’m writing this article in fact to remind myself as much as my readers.  As I check my own validation calendar, I see that I have let validation slip on Top10Tech for over a month!

That is a definite mistake.  If you validate this blog right now you will probably see about 2 dozen validation errors (assuming you look within about 12 hours of this post).

These have crept into my theme and some of my articles over the last month or two.

WindowsLiveWriter Creating Buggy Code

One of the errors relates to WindowsLiveWriter which is inserting an atomicselection attribute that does not exist.  Shame on Microsoft for writing more buggy code, shame on me for not catching it fast enough.

Error Line 202, column 132: there is no attribute “atomicselection” .

Validate Advertising Code before Loading it into a Rotator or Adserver

Several others relate to the adserver that I'm running.  I neglected to validate ad code before I loaded the ad code into my adserver database.  So I need to get in there and validate both my ad code as well as the ad code generated by the adserver.
